Customer Service
Customer Service jobs with travel companies usually involve liaising between tour operators and customers to deal with any after sales issues that arise, e.g. flight changes, accommodation changes or date amendments. You will be responsible for ensuring that any changes are communicated to the customer and any issues that arise from the changes are also dealt with. You may also be responsible for chasing up clients who need to provide further information prior to traveling, e.g. arranging airport transfers for customers who have arranged their own flights. Customer service staff may also deal with complaints or issues raised by customers before, during or after their trip.
Good communication skills are essential and you will also need a good knowledge of the travel industry and destinations. You may have gained this knowledge through previous experience in a reservations or travel advisor role.
