Description
Overseas manager urgently required for an immediate start!
Skiweeks requires a motivated and energetic manager, with previous multi-resort management experience in the ski industry, for our overseas operation in Europe.
We are a growing and dynamic business and this is a great opportunity for the right person to develop a real full time career in the alps.
Based in the 3 Valleys, France you will have overall responsibility for our overseas programme which includes 2 Club hotels and involve regular travel to our numerous resorts including Morzine, Chamonix, Italy and Switzerland.
As a key member of our close-knit team you will be responsible for the smooth running of our winter operation and our guest’s safety and satisfaction when in resort.
During the summer months you will be managing our club chalet operation in Morzine and involved in planning our future operations.
In brief, keys responsibilities:
· ensuring profitable of our operation
· budget control
· training, motivation and management of around 25 in-resort staff
· auditing and liaising with over 30 hotels in Europe; maintaining strong relationships with all our foreign suppliers;
· coordinating weekly transfers; collating and approving the various resort and hotel accounts each week for submission to the UK office.
On-going and Summer duties will involve managing the club chalet operation on Morzine, strengthening and renewing our existing accommodation contracts while actively seeking new opportunities in both our established resorts and new destinations; reviewing supplier contracts and seeking new innovative ways to reduce costs and improve performance; budget creation for areas under your financial control and recruitment of all in-resort staff.
This position is perfect for applicants with proven travel industry management experience who are looking to join a growing company.
Requirements
You will have previous multi-resort management experience in the ski industry.
You will have experience of managing teams remotely and in a hands- on manner.
You will have a good understanding of the running of a hotel and bar.
You will be driven and highly self motivated with the stamina to lead throughout the season and enjoy a high level of autonomy.
You will be confident and flexible, a good listener and leader and able to think clearly and rationally in a crisis.
You will be an excellent time manager and be able to prioritise quickly and rationally during periods ofstress.
You will understand that certain periods will require extraordinary working hours and commitment to achieve company goals.
You will ensure that our high company standards are maintained at all times and that all procedures and code of practice adhered to.
