Description

We are a small, family run company looking for a chef or a couple, one of whom must be a chef to work as part of our friendly team at our chalets and chalet/hotels in the picturesque resort of Megeve, France.

We are looking for chefs who can cook with flair and imagination as we pride ourselves on the standard of cuisine that we offer and we don't provide menu plans that you have to cook. So, we are looking for chefs who love to run (or have the opportunity to run) their own kitchen and this is a great chance to let your creativity flow! The job involves cooking breakfast, a cake for afternoon tea, canapes and a delicious 3 course evening meal. If you are coming as a couple, the other half would work as a chalet host alongside the chef being a friendly, cheerful host for our guests, waiting on tables, cleaning rooms, sorting out lift passes, making restaurant recommendations etc. You both need to be smiley, friendly and willing to get stuck in! In our larger chalet/hotels there would be two chalet hosts, a driver and a chalet manager. So, we are looking for people who can work well as part of a team.

Our staff get one day off per week and every afternoon bar changeover day to go skiing. We ensure that you do get to go skiing as much as possible because that is the point of a ski season! Megeve has a huge ski area and the snow out there this season was the best that it has been for years. We have 14 staff in total in the resort so there are plenty of people to go skiing/socialise with.

We take great care to look after our staff. If you're happy then our guests are happy and most of our staff have remained our great friends over the years.

Requirements

We are looking for a chef who can cook mouth-watering food with excellent presentation and has great creativity and flair.

You need to be organised, friendly, outgoing, hard working and have good attention to detail - oh and looking forward to getting out on the slopes as well!
