Description

JD Holiday Lettings Ltd are looking for a couple who wish to have a working holiday enjoying all the benefits that the coastal resort of La Tranche sur Mer on the South West of France has to offer.  

We are looking for a chef who can be inspirational with local produce to create exciting stylish menus as well as having basic DIY skills and a chalet host/housekeeper who will  need to make our guests feel incredibly special on their ‘once a year’, summer holiday. 

You will be jointly responsible for the overall cleanliness and presentation of the holiday homes on changeover day and ensure that excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in/around the villa at all times.

Responsibilites

  • Once a week meet and provide guests with information about their gite/villa and local area.
  • Prepare and serve dinner to clients as and when requested - It's a self catering holiday but from time to time guests like to have a private chef for the evening
  • Deal confidently and professionally with any issues that may arise promptly and effectively
  • Gite/villa cleaning and changeovers - 2 - 4hrs per day , 4 days per week, plus Saturday & Sunday changeovers approx. 4hrs per day per person 
  • Washing of linen and towels and Ironing - (New BOCSH industrial 10kg washing machine supplied)
  • Swimming pool cleans, tests and safety checks three times per week
  • Twice weekly light garden maintenance
  • Be on-call for any assistants the clients may need ie gas bottle changes and basic DIY as and when needed  

Requirements

  • Have previous experience in similar roles as chefing and housekeeping.
  • Be over the age of 25 for insurance purposes.
  • Ability to speak basic French – for ordering food
  • Understanding of stock and cost control and basic accounting skill
  • Current driving licenses with one having experience of using a trailer
  • Have a flexible/professional and positive approach
  • Have good organisational and administrative skills
  • Flexible with working hours
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Confident and cheerful
